toronto,
hey guys, I need some help regarding this deal.
I have to figure that it is whats causing my surge, I've been through everything else.
I took out the throttle body, heres what i noticed, the section inside the tb where the TPS was 100% clogged with junk. How bad is this??
I cleaned it off never the less.
Anyways, about the fiav, first off I cant get these damn screws off theyre so flimsy. The ones holding the two halves together.
Now after I get it apart, what do i do with the 2 coolant lines?? this is my main concern at the moment, Im thinking I can loop them?? Or do I have to block them both?
thanks alot guys for helping me with my many a questions.

There's a Vfaq on the coolant lines. You can loop them together, or you can leave them where they are. It doesn't really matter if coolant still flow through there, but it does heat up the TB a bit.

For the screws holding the two halves of the TB together, hopefully you dont strip them ahah... First i tried a regular screwdriver and only succeeded in partially stripping one of them OMG ....Then after calming down, I heated the screws for a super short time witha torch then used an impact driver to get them out, it was very simple with that tool, just had a friend hold the TB steady as i hit the impact driver. I did it cause i had a bad FIAV, and it fixed my idle prob...just have to play with the throttle during the winter, but summertime starts rightup...price u pay for bypassing i guess :p

thanks, I ended up using ym teachers impact driver, that thing is a god send!
so I'm currently letting my rtv dry, hopefully my idle surge will be gone, I'll update this tonight.

I had the misfortune of striping out the philips head on one of the bolts. To loosen it I used a dirtbikers trick using a hammer and a spot punch to grip and rotate the screw loose. then I was able to hacksaw a slot to use a flat head to put it back in. (I didn't fell like hunting down a replacement bolt) :thumb:
