I installed some RC 1200's and they keep boost leaking. I pulled them out and noticed I didnt have the pintle caps installed or the injector sheet ive seen on some pics that goes on the top but I dont think I need that one.

Now do RC injectors need the pintle caps or not? For some reason they dont seal. All I have are the lower injector insulators that go into the head. The upper oring and the rubber spacer. Am I missing something?

In regards to possible boost leaks, you would think that only the lower isolators/insulators apply. Poor or no upper isolators/insulators + o-rings would result in fuel leaks. By "rubber spacer" did you mean the fuel rail isolators? Did you use NEW lower isolators or reuse the old ones? My only suggestions are to replace the lower isolators and to torque down the fuel rail again [w/o breaking the bolt of course LOL!]

Let us know how it goes!

i have the lucas 550's they are pretty much the same but when i took my 450's out i just put the 550's in with the old injector head O-seals but i dont know if mine leaks, no they dont need pintle caps

Well after someone talking with RC we think we figured it out. No they do not come with pintle caps like oem injectors. But sometimes a manufacturer may machine the injector incorrectly making it barely off causing a bad seal and a boost leak.

RC says they will check the injectors to make sure they are in spec and if not then they will fix them for free. I can also shave off a little of the fuel rail making the injector seat more properly.

Yes I always use new seals. I just replaced them again and it seems to be sealing but if they are not correctly machined they will start to leak once the seals start to get a little older.

Oh wow, that's very interesting. RC Engineering's customer service is superb man. I had a great experience with them cleaning my injectors. Anyway, best of luck working it out! At least you know what to do now.
