While paroozing though under the dash while installing my fancy light kit, I came across this mess

Doesn't look stock to me, and not really sure what it could be for. Any ideas?

Any ideas on that connector? hat would need an external interface like that?

Like stated above, looks like an alarm or starter system. That harness would plug into the main control box. I would follow wires and see where they lead. Make sure the cars harness isn't hacked up.

I've discovered some kind of control module. I'll explore in the morning more. Don't wanna mess with it too much if its involved with the ignition and such.

I've also discovered a toggle switch on the underside of the steering wheel. Not sure if thats stock or not either. Its actually on the steering wheel on the bottom.

Best advice.....Re-trace the wires as much as you can. Personally, I do not care for hacked up wiring in my car and try to remove what is not needed. I would try to take out what you can and use some solder and heat shrink to fix any splices that may have been made to the harness. Just be careful and make sure that you car still runs after you unhook stuff. If it does not start, hook it back up until you can figure out if its wired into something more important.

Sounds like im gonna rip apart the whole dash and replace all the lights and make my push to start like I wanted LOL. I'll be back eventually with all of my nifty mods. I love doing electrical, just not when its freezing outside.
