radio trim question

ok so i just got my car a few weeks ago and it has the huge oem radio in it and i cant wait to replace it with a cd player but i was wondering if there was anyone out there that makes a pocket for under the cd player after you replace the oem....i dont want to have the extra space blocked off so if anyone knows anything let me know....thanks

most places that you would take it to to get a aftermarket CDplayer installed will just put a pocket it in for you. i went to circut city for my 2g NT and they put in a 3CD pocket. if you want to do it yourself..ask them for a cover for an unused space..or buy something else that can go in there. like an EQ? or maybee some gauges..

I put the block off style plate in mine, so now it is a gauge pod after some cuting and trimming.

if you are doing it yourself, just go to best buy or circuit city and get a universal pocket. THen, go to a junk yard and get a single-din radio bezel for like 5 bucks.

1Gs that came factory equipped with a CD player had a split bezel. They're not the easiest to find but are out there. I have 2 or 3 sitting around so if you're interested in one and/or would like a picture, drop me a PM.

so is my factory cd player worth anything? or just the bezel?

i was gonna say, i got a sony cd player and it came with a case to hold the faceplate of the cd player, which happes to fit in the other hole perfectly, so i have a square thing that says sony on it above my cd player, which will hopefully be replaced by a blitz sbc id color once i get around to it...
