radio cuts out...wtf.

Lately when i turn on the heat, my lights, or use the turn signal, my radio briefly just stops playing music, than starts again, and the lights in the car dim at the same time. Any idea whats causing this?

is the radio turning off completly? there are a few things that could be wrong

Alternator could be going bad

Your radio could have a bad connection in the wiring somewhere

Might have some bad grounds in the motor

Factory Infinity unit. Ive checked all fuses, the battery is brand new, and i've had the unit out to check all connections and havent found any bad connects or anything grounding out...I'm stumped. I had recently got a new motor installed with a brand new alternator, i havent had time to look at it closely, but i had that problem before and the alternator was draining my battery completely and nothing electrical would work, or if it did, the power would seem to barely be making things work. However this is wierd, the lights just dim and the headunit cuts out completely. It will be playing a cd, and it will stop playing for a second or two, then cut back in.

Do you happen to have subs and an amp wired up to your factory deck. I have an aftermarket deck and i had to run a wire from the battery to the 12volt constant on the deck because mine done what yours is doing. There just wasnt enough power inside to run everything at once.

That happened to me when my battery terminals were bad, every time i hit a bump, the radio would shut off for a second then turn on. but also you may have some wires showing, and might possible be touching somehting to short out the stereo for a moment..?
