radiator fan HELP!!!

Hey guys and girls i have a question how could i check and see if my fans are working? My car runs normal but lately when on the highway doing 60 plus my car starts to overheat a little not going super high where coolant starts to come out the over flow tank but enough to have me worried and annoyed. Not really sure if my fans are working but driving non highway temp is normal at first thought it was the thermostat so changed it but will overheats so i don't know any thoughts or ideas on how to help me?

If its only at high speed that its overheating then I doubt its the fan. The fan makes more of a difference when your a low speeds, when you are at high speeds the wind should be going through the radiator even without the fan. I would make sure nothing is blocking your radiator and your coolant reservoir is full and there is no air on the lines. If everything looks good you should add ducting to the radiator.

Back to your question though, to check the fans drive around until you get your engine up to normal operating temps, then just idle in the driveway with your hood up. The fan should come on every few minutes.

make sure u don't have any air in the system let the car run for about 15 mins at idle with the radiator cap off and see if there are any air bubbles.. Also if u have a big FMIC u might want to run with ## fans on all of the time.

There is fresh coolant in there as well not even a couple thousand miles old new thermostat. You think maybe if i change my radiator cap that would help? I just have no idea why its doing it and its not overheating pass the pic thing ( i don't whats it called) on the temp gadge.

that stock gauge is crap my car was overheating once and it wouldn't go past the half until like 230 deg!!! ya i would get a new radiator cap just for the hell of it and alot of aftermarket thermostats are known to go bad quickly just to this.. Take off the radiator cap, let the car idle with it off for 15 min, if there is air in the system the coolant will bubble and overflow a little bit through the thermostat housing, just keep the car running while adding water until the coolant flows smoothly through the thermostat housing... If it doesnt flow smoothly after about 15-20 min then your thermostat isn't opening and is bad. If it flows smoothly and your car still overheats then you prob need to run with ## fans on all the time bc the radiator isn't getting enough airflow.. I run with my fans on everytime i start my car...

Yea i have a punishment racing FMIC and i was looking at the fan bypass but iam super bad with wiring and i saw draw ups on how its down on here and it looks like cave drawings to me doesn't make sense in my eyes i wouldn't know where to start or finish

Yea I saw that but all that looks weird to me but i just showed my dad that and he understood it and said he can do it for me tomorrow so ill see how that goes if it doesn't go well ill def ask yea to put it in a simple way for me! haha Thanks tho really appreciate it!
