my dads got a dozen or so radiators in the backyard, would it be alright if i threw one of them on as a FMIC? might be a stupid question LOL, i couldn't find info on radiators holding air pressure. anyone tried this or know if it wouldn't work?

In theory, they would work. But they're optimized for the cooling system. The inlet/outlets are only about an inch wide. The flow would suck, the fitment would suck, overall, it woud suck. You're better off just bearing with the SMIC until you save up for a 'real' FMIC.

Since the original question has been aswered already, hopefully there's no harm in asking: Why don't you have your Dad put all those radiators in the backyard to good use and create a large bizarre-looking wind chime?

i second that. or i'm thinking some kind of heat exchanger for cheap air conditioning for the house, or strip all that aluminum/copper/brass down and take it to a scrap yard. i know steel prices are sky high right now, and i've heard copper is supposed to go up as well.

i'd front mount it of course LOL. im actually thinking about trying this out, one of them has decent sized openings(1.5inch). and if it sucks ass i'll just keep the piping for if i have to end up getting an actual fmic.

the economy is so bad we enthusiasts resort to using radiators as intercoolers. Whats next? Are we going to have to go down to the local WacArnolds and use the old grease as motor oil becuase the price of the barrel continues to skyrocket?

Sell the radiators on ebay and get a FMIC from XS.

Exactly, Find a radiator shop that will toss you a deal.
Have them cleaned, flushed and you repaint them.
Then sell them on ebay or craigslist. If you have as many as you say, you will easily make more then enough $$ to buy a good IC..:thumb:
