Guys, what do you think the safest amount of boost would be on a 1g AWD with a b16g but on a totally stock fuel setup? I know every car is different but i am sure there is a benchmark. Also besides race gas what other gas has the same effect i.e. aviation fuel?

Thanks,
George

I WAS (am not now) running 18psi on a completely stock fuel system with a small 16g, but my injectors were maxing out at about 6k rpms and the car felt awful up top, but up until 6k it pulled hard with no knock until the injectors ran out of juice. I would say maybe 15-16 psi all depending on the presence of knock. Apparently E85 is 110 octane. I have heard of people making home-made race gas using xylonene or something crazy, but I would never trust that on my car. There is always water/alcohol/methanol injection to run more boost safely and lower knock.

at the track i run 16 psi though i have a 255. Everything else is stock tho and it pulls real hard. I wouldnt run that much all the time tho, for me i only bump it up at the track or when i want to leave someone at a stop light,

i ran 20 psi on 110 octane with just a 255 at the track, only did two passes for the fear of something breaking but it ran great like that and its still running just fine still

It's really not a question anyone can answer accuratly. It all depends on your specific car/application. As I'm sure you have heard, some cars like boost, some like timing...

Just do some logs at x psi of boost, and if you get no knock, turn it up a notch. There is no real way to tell for sure without actually logging it (I am assuming you have something to tune/log with)

I has a logger and run 14psi with no problems although I do have a front mount. I am sure I could squeeze out another pound or two on our 93 pump here. What do you feel would be safe at the track on race gas?

Get a 255 pump and 110 octane and you should be able to boost 22psi with no problems on a good running car

I am running at 20psi at 39lb/min on a big 16g. i run 100LL from the airport. yup!! I really love this thing no knock what so ever and i can get it for almost the same price as pump gas.

i run 110 octane on a e316g....with 510's and a 255....41 psi of fuel...and a good tune...runs fine all the way to 26 psi of boost....and is still runnin good after..
