well you gotta pull the axel for the easiest way to get to the ball joints, only takes like 30-40 minutes total though

Yea, its easy unless your axles are rusted in their hubs. I'm not sure how much salt Chicago puts on their roads in the winter, but here in MI they turn completely white. The only way to replace my wheel bearings was to replace the whole hub assembly and axles because they were all rust-welded together.

thanks, but could you give me some specifics like what other parts do need to remove to get to them??

If you don't have a Service Manual, do youself a favor and get the Manual CD. It will save you money in the long run.

When i replaced my ball joints i removed both of the A arms and I pressed the ball joints out. But I have a press. The new ones will need to be pressed back in. I think you will have a lot of trouble leaving them on the car and trying to pound them out. I never replaced my wheel bearings so i can't help you out there.
