So i need to the talon back and running asap. I have a spare motor and transmission that i am going to put into the car that is from another talon i had that i parted out. Both are 92 6bolt. The car i parted out was driving fine until a rear wheel bearing went and it needed more rust fixed than it was worth. so i have the engine and tranny from that car ready to go into my other one but one of the selectors (probably the wrong term kinda in a rush right now but whatever the two shifter cables connects to) does not move. When i parked the car it was shifting fine but before i parted it out it only had first and second gear if i remember correctly. It only sat for about a month so my question is why does only one of them move and how do i fix this? I'm putting the engine and tranny in tomorrow so any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, I do think you need to be a little more clear. Do you have the old motor and trans out already? If your talking about the old trans not shifting now I'm thinking its probably because if you only had 1st and 2nd gear, maybe the other busted gears is keeping it from shifting. I'm not sure if that's what You were talking about so hope it helped at all.

i have the old motor and tranny out of the car. the one I'm talking about is from another talon i parted out. It was shifting fine, i parked it for a month, then only had first and second before i took it out of the car. One of the shift levers doesn't want to move at all by hand and I don't really want to tap it with a hammer to find out what will happen. Or should I?

Maybe they seized up due to rust after sitting? loosened the nut and sprayed them with pb and i can tap it with a hammer and it will move, but not by hand. Guess i'll switch them with the ones from the spare transmission i have that actually move and see if that works. The problem must be external no way its internal after sitting for a month.
