I have a 1996 TSi AWD and I need to find a tranny for it. How universal are they? Does it have to be that particular year? Or could it be a tranny from any turbo awd 2g? I cant afford to order the wrong transmission. Its kind of a one shot thing.

Any 2G AWD Turbo tranny will work. If you order the wrong one then the shop you ordered it from would probably take it back and refund your cash.
