Quick question on AWD tranny?

well i had found a guy that was selling a " 92 AWD tranny". i dont know if its just me but from my memory i know there is an output shaft in the middle of the transmission where the TOB goes and isnt there suppose to be another output shaft for the transfer case? the one i got does not have the output shaft for the transfer case(if there is suppose to be one). now i checked on vfaq.com and from the picture the best i can tell is that there is suppose to be one.

you got it, if its an AWD tranny then it will have an output shaft for the transfercase also.....If it dont have one youve got a FWD tranny........a transfercase cant turn without a shaft to turn it.

That or someone pulled the output shaft out of the tranny... You got a pic?

There should be two shafts - one inside the bellhousing (the input shaft), and one outside (the output shaft). The output shaft should be on the same face (side) of the transmission as the input shaft, below it and to the right to be exact. It doesn't come out very far, maybe 2-3 inches. There are also 5 bolt holes there for the t-case to bolt to.
