Quick question about coolant

ok i was looking in my engine bay of my N/T this afternoon and i saw that the coolant overflow bottle was empty. is it ok to be completely empty, i know it is an overflow bottle but should it have coolant? just wondering and i sorta circled it in this picture thanks in advance

I fill mine to the top and let it sort itself out. It should have MIN and MAX lines on it. Use either 50/50 premix, or distilled water to top it up.
