Quick Q On Oil Leak

got an oil leak on the lower portion of the engine. i think im looking at the turbo return line leaking and possible oil pan. the oil gets all over bottom section of firewall, rear of pan, and all over transfer case on back. no oil higher than pan on firewall side, but does wrap up probably due to air moving oil up firewall slightly. my question- is there any oil pressure areas on firewall side of block?

Not really anything I can think of back on the firewall side. Most likely it's your oil return line going back to the pan. You need to try to clean everything off really good and then take it for a short drive to see if you can tell where it is coming from before it blows all over again. The return line leaking is my bet though, as that is the most common.

Check the oil return line, its only two bolts and might help you. And maybe the next time you do an oil change, you should take off the oil pan and see if its bent and maybe make a better seal for it.

My turbo used to leak oil constantly. Look up at the turbo from underneath where the return line hooks to the turbo and see if there is oil there. Good luck.

When my oil return line blew it sprayed all the way down the pan and onto the exhaust, but no higher. Sounds like a similar situation to me, I had some on the firewall too. Clean up the return and wiggle it a bit, bet the leak is large enough to visually inspect now.

Its not an oil leak, its sweat from all the horsepower. But on a serious note, these guys are on the money today.

I have similar problem, firewall completely covered in fluid, cross member, & burning on the down pipe, but I am not low on oil, nor am I low on coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, or clutch fluid. I have narrowed it down to the transfer case is what I believe is my problem, what do you guys think? Can you re-seal the transfer case without dropping the transfer case out?

Don't think so, but it is real easy to drop anyway.
