Quick Easy Question

Hey there, I hope this is in the right fourm..I'm sure it is. I have a 95' Eclipse GS and I was just wondering...When going for the quickest acceleration and top speeds when is the best time to shift with the redline at 7000-9000?

Hopefully this is a simple question, and im obviously kind of new so help me out. Thanks.

FORTUNATELY we DONT drive hondas .... so we cant rev up to 9 grand. im not sure about your 95 eclipse, but on my old eclipse (97 rs) my rev limiter hit at 7500 and i shifted at about 7200. im not sure if your car is rev limited since you have obd1 but try shifting at 7200 and see how u like it

If you like acceleration and also like your motor you'll shift before the rev limiter. 6900-7200 is about right. 7500 is the rev limiter for us 96+ guys but I dunno about 95's. But if you like having a motor that runs, properly and still want that acceleration, don't shift past 7200

if you really wanted to know the best shift point for each gear
have it put on a dyno and see where power begins to fall off then always shift
before what each gear reads at

i believe the stock cams start to make the power curve shit out at 6700. i shift about 6900
