Alright so i got myself a 92' Plymouth Laser RS T for a basically free. After buying this car for parting out, it brought me to think that this would be a great project car. I would first of all need to do some bodywork as rust is very minimal though but i was thinking of getting a full paint job at like a Maaco shop or something. But performance wise the previous owner said that the timing belt skipped on it and he started taking it apart and never finished. The whole head is off the car when i bought it but i don't trust it at all now since the fact of it being taken apart. I was thinking of buying a whole entire new JDM motor. I was looking at getting a 4G63 T engine and dropping it in there. After getting the motor in the car and running i was thinking of getting some performance parts for the engine. My plans are to get a Boost Gauge, Boost Controller, Cold air intake, and a BOV to start with as i'm on a gradual budget. Eventually i will add more performance to it but that's what i was thinking about for starters.

Any suggestions or help on anything, or future items i should invest in would be great. Thanks

You should just build the motor now, so you dont have to later. Then you dont have to worry about the motor later. And then follow the tech guide thats on the main page. That should get you started.

Which ever way you decide to go make sure to do all your maintenance before you start modding. You don't want to spend all your money on performance parts and have your timing belt snap. If your worried about the head being off you could always get the motor rebuilt.

Read the upgrade paths here, that should give you an idea of what you should be doing. Also, there's no real reason to buy a JDM engine, you can rebuild your current one for much cheaper, and it would be just as good.

my car jump time and i bent the valves. once i bought all the new parts and got the head back on the car it cost me $850 or so. thats new timing belt with pulleys, water pump, valves, arp head studs, cometic head gasket, and hondata intake many gasket.

Alright, i might do that then, cause i kept taking it apart to look more in depth at the pistons and head and the pistons have gouges in em' by bouncin off the valves as the valves are bent to crap too. So i should just buy a rebuild kit or head and pistons and should be good to go?
