Just wondering what my next step should be I put catback exhaust on, did free mods, cleaned intercooler. greddy bov, injen intake, mbc, 14b turbo, 16 psi. I beat a 300zx with cold air intake and exhaust (stick shift) the other day so Im guessing i got around 220 hp. My next step I was thinking on upgrading the fuel system. I hear you can rewire the fuel pump by adding larger gauge wire, would that be sufficient pressure to back upgraded injectors (like 550cc). If so what kind of parts do I need to order and what kind of boost you think I can turn up to? Thanks for your input, Im always lookin for more horsepower.:rocks:

oh ya i was also wondering if any1 knew how much an automatic takes from the engine output compared to manual...is it worth converting to manuel?

Check out http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html look under the fuel heading, it has explanation of the pump rewire and talks about fuel system upgrades. In my opinion the first thing you should get is a good wideband. When you start tweaking your fuel system you need a reliable way to monitor it. From my experience a 14b stops being efficient between 16 and 18 psi.

Downside of an auto, as you said is additional power draw, also, if you want to run any much larger turbo, a higher stall torque converter (or a shot of nitrous:sneaky: ) will keep your spool time from taking too long. Upside is, no spool-down between gears and no PITFA trans swap.:rocks: You will also need some type of fuel control if you upgrade injectors (afc, etc.)

When you start upgrading your fuel system, I would recommend upgrading your fuel pump before upgrading your injectors - a Walbro 190 should suffice if you plan on upgrading to 550cc injectors.

Skip the rewire on the stock pump if you are upgrading injectors too. Get a 190 and call it good.

Just another thing to throw in the mix since you own an automatic.

One of the guys on a local board I frequent bought this and said it is the coolest thing since sliced bread. A breeze to install and does everything he expected it to.

i read up on vfaq and it states that if i use 93 octane (which i do) I can get away with using an upgraded fuel pump 190 or 255lph, stock injectors and maintaining 18psi on the 14b. How does this sound? Should I still look into an afc and egt gauge beforhand to be safe or with the computer keep up on this setup? Thanks for you input.

With the 190 pump you wont be required to get an AFPR, but with the 255 you will. Also some people say you can get by without doing the fuel pump rewire and some say to get the most out of your pump and to try and help get rid of that loud whine to do the rewire. If you get bigger injectors i would suggest Safc 1 or 2 and some sort of data logger especially when your looking to turn up the boost. I have 2 firends that did the manual swap and they seem to be pleased with it, seems like it deff. frees up alot of rotating mass, but then again look at alot of the supras you see drag racing alot of them are using automatics and putting down amazing times.

alrite....i guess what ill do is get a 190lph and rewire also (wont hurt) get an egt gauge and turn boost up to 18 psi n see what happens, next after that I would say an fmic....
