Considering redoing wiring harness on eclipse does anybody have any recommendations with this. I have fixed alot of problems with this car and to deep into the build to get rid of the car since I have purchased the car. I have had to redo everything from a full suspension replacement to brake replacements to front end bushings and a new starter, alternator and drivers side axle and wheel bearing also taking abs out of the car eventually the car is popping alternator fuses as soon as I put them in and connect the battery. On the inside of the car whoever had the car half a*& hooked up a safc2 that doesnt even adjust the air fuel ratio when you mess with the percentages on it. I also noticed a loom of wires hanging by the kick panel that honestly look like a second wiring harness where something used to be hooked up. Im looking to do a drag wiring harness can anyone give me some pointers and point me in the right direction of getting started first time doing a wiring harness, Was planning on doing a holset 52 build but gotta get the car running right first looks like this build is gonna take a while.:banghead:

It is a seriously involved process, requiring the proper literature and tools.

But is sounds like you might be in need of at least updating (fixing) a couple of circuits.

I don't know about the condition of your 1G's wiring, but it took me many months in a warm garage to redo my wiring, and there wasn't anything wrong with the operation of my car. Granted it was extreme.

Check out my Blogs for advise. I have a lot of additional information if you need anything specific.

A drag harness wouldn't be nearly as hard as a street car. I would only wire the essentials, Hook the fuel pump and other high amp devices to switches. Im sure you can do it. don't let electronics scare you. I would also highly recommend soldering where ever you can. If you ever need help just pm me electronics is my forte.

You need a proper operating car before you need to worry about making a harness. Use the harness that is there but repair what is messed up.

If you are going to drive the car on the street then my advice is useless but if it is a drag only car I can help.
