Question about wiring a FM Modulator: Power using ACC circuit okay?

Hey everybody, I have just a quick question about wiring a Kenwood FM Modulator.

What I want to know is if it is alright to leave the FM Modulator powered constantly (hooking it up to the ignition accessory circuit). Will this interfear with radio reception (if I am listening to a radio station) if I am not tuned to the correct station that the FM Modulator is setup for?

The radio will only see it on the channel it's broadcasting on, just like all those other stations.

depends defiant, some DO affect the Fm reception when on, most of them do that are actually on the antenna wire itself.

wire it to accessory and put a small toggle somewhere.

I had the FM Modulator hooked up before in my hatch area, but I think that caused some problems. The reason I wonder is because the audio output was never very clear. I have heard wireless FM modulators that have sounded better. I think the problem was because the audio signal from the modulator had to travel about 15 feet through the antenna wire to reach the CD player antenna input.

I am in a huge process of rewiring 95% of my aftermarket electrical accessories right now so hopefully moving the FM modulator to the front dash area (direct input signal to the CD player) will have a cleaner signal.

Regarding my question... I am making a fused accessory panel (for all of my aftermarket gadgets) that is powered through a relay switched by the ignition accessory turn on wire (I hope that made sense). Anyways, this will clean up a lot of my wiring under my dash and eliminate a few panel switches (hopefully help get rid of my jet fighter interior look).

since your doing a nice fused bank of switches off a relay anyways (yes, it made sense to me) i'd put your FM Mod on a switch too. it will guarantee you no interferance if you turn it off when not in use.
