Question about wastegates

Hello everyone, I just broke into the turbo world and my friend is helping me along the way. My question deals with boost controllers and wastegates. My friend wants to trade me his 1g wastegate for my big 16g wastegate. He says that since I have a Greddy Profec-B boost controller I will still be able to push between 10-16 PSI like my original wastegate. Is this true? Thank you everyone for your time.

There's no difference in the 1g wastegate and 16g wasteagte,stock wastegate is set a 12psi,but with any electronic /manual boost controller you can set your wastegate at any PSI you desire

The 14b actuator spring is 1.5" longer than the 16g spring. So the 14b actuator SHOULD exhibit more preload. Assuming the springs are similarly designed. . . That's a big IF. Theoretically a 14b actuator on a 16g will yield higher boost running boost straight to the wastegate actuator.
