I used teflon tape as well but now I think my issue is tightness. Tomorrow I will re-tape fitting and tighten it down a little more. I may have just had a breakthrough understanding of how -AN fittings work though. Originally, I thought, that because of the angle of the flares, -AN fittings tightened themselves. Correct me if I am wrong but do -AN fittings tighten themselves because of the actual nut tightening "mechanism"? Mechanism meaning the silver ball thing that is in the outside of the nut. Or is it a combination of both? <--- Probably the correct answer. I don't know.

^^^ you welded a bung on your sending unit didn't you? If so and the bung was for an -an fitting, you don't need teflon tape. I was attaching a -6an straight to the stock 2g AWD sending unit feel line fitting. The flares on the two fittings didn't match up so I just used teflon to help seal it up. I also tightened it down real tight and it has yet to leak.

Yeah, don't use Teflon on AN fittings. His is just a special situation.:)

On the factory fuel line setup is not like a typical male AN adapter to the actual female AN adapter used in the kits, its just a regular flare fitting, not a bubble type fitting. Thats why it doesnt hurt to throw a string of teflone tape on there.

Yeah, i understand. I was just clarifying that there shouldn't be a need for it on typical -AN fittings. We're on the same page.:thumb:
