I plan on getting the eBay red stich recaro look alike racing seats for Christmas. They come with sliders, so will I just be able to drill new hole in the oem seat bracket and mount the slider to it or do I have to get a new seat bracket too? Thanks.

I have a few things to say about this, first of all you can do whatever you want, I'm just giving you a warning. But I'll answer your question first; you CAN bolt or weld your seats to the factory brackets but it most likely will put the seat at an akward height and there is a good chance it will be uneven. It also will be very unsafe. With that said, knock off seats are often made with inferior parts and aren't strong enough for even street use in an accident let alone the forces put on them in an accident on a racetrack. Seat manufacturers (real ones like bride, recaro, etc.) spend a lot of money on R&D to make seats that are safe, the knock off companies just do a half assed copy of the design and call it good enough. I would strongly reccomend getting real seats and the proper rails to accompany them and not knock offs especially if you plan on running buckets.

+1

If you're gonna do it, do it right especially when it comes to anything that could potentially jeopardize your safety.

Most likely you are going to need to get all new brackets. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the seats? I know a lot of the ebay seats do not feel very comfortable and I've already went down the aftermarket seat route so if you have questions feel free to ask.
