Is it me or can this BOV be connected differently? I seen on youtube videos of this BOV without anything being connected to it where the hose is connected to on it (where the arrow I drew is pointing at). I'm guessing that this means it's recirculated. How can I make it just blowing out the BOV and not into that hose?

I don't see a picture?
Even without a pic I can tell you no, you NEED to have a hose hooked up for a BOV to work.

well I been searchin and I can't find the information I'm looking for. I searched this site too. Is my BOV made to be recirculated as opposed to an RFL BOV?

Leave it recirculated.

The fuel trim is programmed for all the air that passes through the MAF. When you let it vent to atmosphere, you are releasing metered air and will go rich when you let off the throttle.

Car runs like complete ass hole without that hose.

When you let off the gas and press the clutch, it will bog down really bad, then you shift into the next gear and you can feel like a two second delay while all the extra fuel is being burnt off. NOT worth it just to sound cool.

Buy yourself a GM MAF and translator if you want to vent to atmosphere. You can find good deals if you look around. I found my translator and sensor locally for $100 total. Just waiting for my couplers to get here.

yah if you really have to have the cool sound the only way i know with out causing your power loss problem is to move the mas air flow to befor the bov in your i.c pipeing. using a gm mass because it can handle more air volume. also you will need a mas air flow translator to put the GM lingo to a dsm lingo if you know what i mean once you have completed these steps your car will read a steady flow of air. once you have this all set up always check for boost leakes befor you start the car and you should notice a louder bov and no boggin i hope it helped you out a lil.

p.s but yes it is possible to vent to atmospher just depends on how you do it if you want your car to not run like a bag of shit .

Ya dude just leave it recirculated, unless you got some money to spend to get the translator. I've tried unhooking the hose and plugging the recirc and venting to the atmosphere the car runs like a bag of poop. The car stalled out on me anytime I let off the gas, did not matter that I was rolling at 60km/h. Sounds cool but you'll need to spend more money for a cool sound. Your choice.

If you want loud BOV get the Wide Mouthed Plastic one. I dont know what years it came on but I was told it came off the 1g 7 bolts.

If you want an even louder BOV get one with a horned mouth (mouth is shaped like a horn) and then strap the recirculation hose over it with a hose clamp. Bit hard to do but I have seen it done.

Our cars dont run correctly with an atmospheric vented BOV.
