bov question

How do you guys think a BOV works? A bov is open at idle. This is why you can't leave it open. THis is how a BOV works. Under vacuum it's open. That's why it lets off boost when you shift. Pressure is on the bottom of the valve, vacuum on the top. Even at just vacuum on the top, it's open. Upon transition in use it opens more quickly giving the traditional "psshhh" sound. It's normal.

It's recirculating. Here's my symptoms if I take off the recirc tube and plug the bov the idle gets better. Or if I drive down the expressway for 10 miles the rough idle goes away. And it feels like I don't have the normal power at wot

The idle should be good no matter what if its recirculated uness the diaphagm is bad if the diaphragm is bad air gets past the throttle body at idle via the bov intake source. Pull the valve and plug the flange with your hand see if it idles. Pull a vac on the bov and see if it opens. If it doesnt its bad.

Plugging it when its idling with the palm of my hand to stop the air from coming out and it goes back to idling perfect right away

And like I said earlier it seems like its lost a little bit of power too for some reason....that's why I'm thinking bov but def open to suggestions
