Long story short I ended up with a $250 1991 Galant with 2.0 sohc. After determining the car is in limp mode and diagnosing this for hours. What is th harm in driving the car around in limp mode under it goes? I only bought the car to drive 5 miles to work and back with the occasional trip to grab food or movies. I know I'll probably get some hate, but this is truly a beater. It has a host of other issues but this seems to be the big ticket item. I do not like automatix transmissions after this one. Should have known better.

well aside from the big performance loss there might also be an impact on gas mileage.... I know its a beater and all but why not fix it up a little getting it running decent so you aint trying to land the plane on a empty tank so to speak.... u cant drive a car on hopes and dreams forever LOL but if u get it running good then when it comes time to sell u can get a little money out of it
