Question... Does it matter where the BOV is located on the upper ic pipe when using a MAFT unit in a blow threw setup?

My friend said you wanna keep the BOV about 10+ inches away from MAFT unit. Mine is about 4 inches away from the MAFT unit now. Can this cause problems?
