quarter of a tank? reading wrong?

my car typically seems like it runs out of gas around a 1/4 of tank i told a couple of freinds bout this and they sarid i have an aftermarket fuel pump. like a walboro or sumthing. i bought the car fixed up it has quite a bit done to it, like bigger injectors and bigger turbo and other supporting mods. i did not ask the previous owner about the fuel pump so is there a chance this could be an upgraded aftemarket one?

An aftermarket fuel pump won't cause you to run out of gas at 1/4 of a tank. Maybe if it was not installed properly or the wrong fuel pump it might not sit as low as it should. How many gallons of gas does it take to fill it once you run out?

Do you have an aftermarket gauges? The needle might have been moved and never fix after. I did the same thing and have been trying to get it to read right for a long time now.

Dont you have a low fuel light? My cars gas gauge stops for some reason at a quarter tank too so I just go by my trip odometer and fuel light to know when to gas up.

it never has a light lite up and when it gets to the point to fill up it takes about 8 gallons wich i think i have a 11 or 12 gallon tank so i know sumthing is up and the gauge cluster was swapped out for the turbo cluster it was previously a non turbo car.

I second that the fuel gauge needle has been previously removed for gauges or what not...

My 99 gsx had a set of overlays on it...I completely filled the tank up to where it was almost coming back out...only rear 3/4's of a tank...I pulled the needle off re-adjusted it to have it pointing straight at in my case....

Fill it up and see where the needle sets....
