Has anyone tried to remove the wastegate from the housing? Any tips or precautions to note before attempting?

I bought the housing and the PO sent the housing and wastegate together since he no longer has any need for the wastegate as it is blown. I have my own wastegate to put on it, I just wanted to make sure that I dont accidentally screw anything up in the process.

You should be able to unbolt both v-band clamps and slide it out.

I've heard its not nearly that simple. Several others have had to heat and beat it off. Others send it in.

DO NOT take it off. I did it and it was a pain to put back on. I contacted PR and they told me they weld the tubes with the wastegate already mounted so it's not really meant to come off.

Both of the clamps are off and the wastegate is still on there. I can actually grab it by the Tial and carry it around, it was shipped to me with the clamps off and it stayed on the housing the entire time it was in transit to my house. I was going to heat it up a little and see if some persuasion with a rubber mallet or dead blow would get it off tomorrow.

Same problem, but I run the MAPerformance version. I had to send it back in to them to get it on. They probably used some gas to heat it up and get it into place. You cant do it without using heat, I tried everything.
