ive got the long block out of the car and theres another engine in there but neither is working! The one in the car makes a knockin noise and now it wont start due to my ghetto rigged alarm...

Im going to pull the head off of the block thats not in the car what should i look for? any thing to watch out for or be carefull with?

Look for any damage really chips, diviets, dents, gouges in the cylinder walls, what happened to this engine so people can give you a better discription of what to look for.

Well when i bought the car the head was just done and all due to mixture of oil and water...

When the engine was in the car it would drive but when you downshift it wouldnt get the full power and i dont know if that had anything to due with the head...

Same night i bought the car i lost my oil pan drain plug and lost oil the car shut off by its self later on pulled the engine out took the timing cover off and about 10teeth off the belt like ripped off and all got stuck at the bottom at the pulleys...

I have a diffrent head thats in the car right now and im planing on pulling it and putting it on the block.

Im going to get it all apart and take the block in have it checked repair whatever needs to be done then later pull the other head and have it checked repair as needed and put the 2 together!

Sorry to repost but i forgot to say this im not worried about the head im going to throw it away anyway i just want to know if there is anything to watch for when taking it off #### the head i just want to be carefull with my block!
