hey guys just getting my car up and running after completely rebuilding it.

it runs decent, set base timing today, and i wanted to hook up my logger but i'm using the palm emulator, but my laptop is toshiba and i cannot get it to work with the com port 3 its trying to connect to. i'm pretty sure toshiba's are different in the way they name their com ports. If anyone can shed some light on this that'd be great. I'm using the keyspan usb-serial adapter, dlc cable w/ the jumpered black wires on pins 10,12 and the single wire on 1. I tried to connect and it comes up under serial comm error.

anyways so i decided to go the old school route and bust out my old "dtc" testers from my previous dsm. I have the buzzer and also an led code reading tool. on pins 1 and 10 i get one quick beep as i key up the car, then followed by L-L-S L-L-S L-L-S L-L-S a bunch of times. Am i correct as to thinking this is code 21? meaning coolant temp sensor?

the car is a 90 tsi awd 5spd w/ rebuilt 6 bolt, ported head, oversized valves, big 16g, 264/264 cams, 2g mas, fmic, and 550's w/ walbro 255 and 3" turbo back - right now running on stock boost setup, no mbc until i get it running perfect
