OK, here's the problem. i went to put a 2g mas on my 1g gsx. i bought a 2g to 1g mas converter plug on ebay and hooked everything up and it ran like crap. So i let in run for a minute to see if maybe the ecu just needed to learn it but the ecu threw a cel so i turned the car off and put my stock 1g mas back on, reset the ecu and started it. however, it was still throwing a cel. so i went and borrowed a snap-on scanner from a buddy of mine and pulled the codes. I got a barometric pressure sensor problem, intake temp sensor problem, mass airflow sensor problem, and coolant temp sensor problem. the car will start and idle but it runs like crap and fouls plugs every 20 minutes. i mean we're talking blowing black smoke at idle and everything. it will rev but it sputters. i pulled my ecu and checked it and caps and everything looks good. What I am wondering is, I have heard that the coolant temp sensor can cause big problems. Now, if the coolant temp sensor is bad could it cause it to go into limp mode and throw those other 3 codes? My car's been down for a few days and i need to get around. Any help would be appreciated. Also, i have an autometer boost gauge and the vacuum is only at 11. however... if i rev it up and play w/ it it will idle at 17 for a second then start sputtering again. can't figure it out for the life of me.

check your wiring, and then check it again, if you have an afc .. make suer all your connections are good there too, also... if you have an afc ... make sure its set to Karman, for some reason, when i hooked up my 2g MAF, it cleared my afc.

Hope this helps

replaced coolant temp sensor and its running a bit better. i think I will go ahead and put another set of new plugs in it because i am sure the excessive fuel fouled them out. i'll post solution. thanks for the responses.

Still bogging with new plugs and wires. Anything else to try? I am getting no response when i plug/unplug the MAS. Replace it???
