pte housing with holset

hi got a question i cant find the answer to despite the tons of holset threads. I have a pte turbine housing from my old scm61 that had a t350 wheel. can I use this housing for an HX35? or do i need to buy the bep housing, thanks.

You'll need a new Holset housing. Every turbine for each manufacturer are different. There are specials at Slowboy for Holset housing.

Okay, i have no intention of using a holset housing. i want to run a bolt on style housing

It is a bolt-on housing. Its made by BEP, and im pretty sure they have the cheapest price... i wouldnt work with Slowboy every single person (including me) that i know of hates them.

Do you not hear my first statements? You'll have to go with a PTE turbine to fit that PTE housing. Best to call PTE and specify what size housing you have and they'll work with you on the turbine that will fit.

We're telling you that you have to, but you don't want to listen. By all means, go for it....and let us know how it works out.


Your PTE turbine housing will fit only a Garrett-based T3 or T4 turbocharger using a T350 (Stage 5) turbine wheel.

I was under the impression you could use a .55 A/R BEP mitu style exhaust housing with a holset turbo instead of the standard divided T3 that it comes with?So to run the hx35 I need a manifold and custom exhaust to the downpipe? I think the pte housing is the same dimensions as the .55 BEP housing, if so the pte will work. The most helpful thing would be the dimensions of the .55 A/R bep housing, thanks

You are correct, as long as it's cast and machined to fit the Holset.

Not if you're using the BEP housing that is designed to fit the HX35 and bolt to your manifold.

The correct housing for your application is around $230-$250 from Bullseye. Don't be a cheap-ass and cut corners or you risk spending lots of time and money in machinework just to damage your turbo.

Amen to that statement. Holset and the BEP housing are already cheap and for what it's capable of what more could you ask?
