So basically this shift box of yours does the same thing as that DIY "Manu-Matic" mod, just with switches, rather then just using the gear select to 'manually' control what gear you are in?
Apparently the Manu-Matic site is no longer up :confused: But it allows the user to select any gear and have it shift instantaneously and stay in that selected gear until you decide otherwise... VERY useful for those dyno days! Anyways, it works by interrupting the TPS input to the TCU simulating the need to shift instantly. It then also interrupts the line pressure solenoid (but sends them through a resistor to keep from going into limp mode) to enable the full line pressure shifts.
It also comes with all of the same pros / cons as your shift box from what I can tell.
