Heres a little back round i ordered the prothane motor mount bushing kit from extreme psi part number 13-1902-bl. Well i pressed out all the stock rubber mounts and the metal sleeves. Then i go to install the polyurethane bushings and i found that the one that's supposed to go into my front motor mount is two small. The part number on the bushing it self is 69183. I looked this up to begin with because i saw that it was the only one that want cut in half, and i saw that people would just use some lube and press it in. But mine just slides right through, ill attach a video to further explain my problem thanks for the help!!

i have a 2g, same problem. Ordered the right kit, double and triple checked p numbers. The sides and back fit but the front doesnt. Im probably going to buy a slug of delrin and machine my own insert. Itll be a hell of alot better than what theyre selling. And front to back motion is the most important. I feel ## pain bro, it pissed me off. Still does..

Yea im a machinist so i could turn on down in like 30 min or less. But i have no idea why its to small, to be honest im kinda pissed..

The outer sleeve of the bushing that you pressed out needs to be there. Burn the rubber and press the sleeve in or press it in and then burn the rubber, whichever is easier for you

It still wouldn't fit, the outer lip slips right thru the whole mount. That should sit up flush with the side of the mount.

Uh, you are aware that the prothane bushings for the front and rear roll stops are just inserts, right? You aren't suppose to take out the rubber - the poly bushing just slips over the rubber and you bolt it all together. Only the motor mounts are completely replaced.

EDIT: saw your vid - that doesn't look like the prothane kit. In any case, it looks like you needed to leave the metal sleeve in the mount.

That applies to the 2gs sir,

1g prothane mounts have full insert you press in.

If you look at the inserts, you will notice that they are all different diameters. My bet is that you are using one too small, did you purchase the whole kit or just that mount? If you got the whole kit, I would try another mount.

Mine def did not look like that. The 2 on the sides are solid, the front and back just kind of slip into the groove of the original rubber.
OP, Aside from it sucking to be ripped off, you are a machinist. You could turn one out in your sleep bro. Itll be better than what theyre selling. GL

It is the prothane kit from Extremepsi. When I go on lunch I'll get the exact numbers for the OD of the bushing, ID of the roll stop. Is there a part number I could look for on the roll stop?

The roll stop in the video looks like an A/T roll stop. They're larger in diameter, and the Prothane front roll stop insert isn't designed to fit the A/T mount. What's the I.D. of the hole of that roll stop?

This is most likely the problem. I have bought two kits from extremepsi for a 1g(red first, then wanted to swap for black) and both of them fit fine. It states on the extremepsi site:

Fits onto all 4G63 1990 - 1994 DSM M/T Only; front and rear inserts do now work on Automatic Transmissions!

If your car is a manual transmission, you either got the wrong part or are putting the wrong mount in the wrong place. There is one mount that is a solid piece that needs to be pressed in and and doesn't look like it will even be close to fitting where is actually goes, but it does. :thumb:

Car has a manual transmission. I'm trying to put the one piece bushing in the front roll stop. Next question would a Automatic trans roll stop work with a manual trans?

Yes and no. The hole on the A/T roll stop is raised some 7-8mm above the hole of the m/t roll stop. BUT, the Prothane m/t front roll stop raises the hole 5mm for some unknown reason. So if you can fit a Prothane front roll stop on your M/T, then you should also be able to fit an A/T roll stop on your M/T.

It seems that many people are running mismatched roll stops and roll stop brackets these days and they're making it work anyway.
