Pros and cons of blow through set-up?

Hey guys, I am thinking I wanna go with a blow through setup, but wanna know what some of the negative side effects of it would be. I know tht I will be able to vent, but will it cause any problems at all? Pretty much I want you all to tell me the pros and cons of the set up. Thanks alot guys

I hate when people dont post towards me cause its a stupid question... SOOO I'll help you out. The blow-thru is nice if you plan on running a nice sized turbo.... Like a 50trim... Its not needed, but a really gooooood Idea. The other things is for the RICERS that want to VENT to the atom. wit there BOV's. It allows you to do it with out at VPC. I have 16g so I'm good wit the 2gMAF.. But its really a good device cause you can tune there at the MAF also. More work, 2 CLEAR benfits.. :thumb:

Well with a blow through the info is the actual that is entering the intake. I went blow through from the beginning with a Dejon Upper IC pipe set up for the MAF.
Just a side note full throttle now has a product called a Scanmaster and it's just the greatest. It lets you see all that is happening while you are driving, knock, spark and about 20 other pieces of data and you can plug your palm into the back and download if you want to. Mark

Another benifit of going blow is you get a more consistant air temperature. Your not sucking in hot air from the engine bay like a draw through setup. With an FMIC and MAFT setup blow through on a cold night, you will be suprised what your air temps will read (being that you have a logger handy, ofcourse).
 
I do not know that I will be going any bigger than a 16G, so do you think that a blow through seup would even be benificial? Thanks

Yeah!!! Any halfwit can locate the filter into the fender without a blowthrough setup, it doesn't take that much intelligence to fabricate an intake pipe that will go down there. Congrats Derek, you are mentally retarded. Now where is Kahlid when I need him?
 
Blow Thru is just a lot better because it gives the computer more exact readings then having it in the very beginning of the intake course. One obvious gain is u can vent ur bov "safely" because its after the bov so the readings it recieves are a lot more accurate than a sensor thats in a completely different potion of the engine.

IMO turbo vehicles should have blo thru setups, meaning that they should always have the sensor where it has boost, i dont understand how u can run an accurate sensor that isnt where the action is, i mean its like having an EGT gauge tapped into the muffler, sure it can get a reading buts its not where the action is so it cant do its job.

LOL ya i liked that too also, cuase it like perfectly explains it, a sensor where nothing is happening is like a army platoon no where near the battle.

Having a blow through setup won't do much for intake temps. You can't even log them with a MAFT because the GM MAF doesn't have a sensor for intake temps. The MAFT automatically enters 86* by default to make the computer happy, regardless of weather your intakes are higher or lower.
