is there a proper way? if i dont crush it, and i pull the large tube off, will it hurt the car in anyway? i know i could go out an buy one, but i wanna see how much i can get outta stock car. thanks:dsm:

I just sat and searched for quite a while now. So does anyone have a link or can tell me how you can crush a 1g bov, and is it necessary on a 1g car?
Or even a previous thread on this subject, like I said before I didn't find anything.

Thanks guys :)

thanks for your time! great post there.

i will start little by little. i just did it like 1/8 th of an inch.

good starting point.

I don't know what :shhh: :thumb: means but anyway yeah no problem man. I'm just sitting here at work so i have to find a way to keep myself amused and yet still be helpful. Good luck with the bov honestly though if I were you I would look into the dodge mod it will hold 30psi without leakin I know cause my friend runs one on his 60-1 at like 25+ psi no problem.

i am kinda confused by the 'dodge' mod. Does the vac nipple up top remain connected as normal to the motor/boost controller? And secondly what gets connected to the lower vac tube you create? Wouldnt it be easier to use a gasket to only include a hole for the diaphram on the bottom of the bov in order to block off that vac port at the bottom instead of going through all the trouble of tapping and blocking to make way for the new tube? sorry if these questions dont make any sense, i'm just trying to figure out the basics of the mod before i try it

i know there have to be side effects of putting the bov in a vice. What are they and will any of these mods cause enough pressure at lower boost to harm the turbo?

thx

Glue a little steering wheel on it, & a little seat, & put 4 wheels on it..put a lego man in the seat...give it a push...watch it crash into the wall.

You can crush it with a vise and a vacuum pump! but once you crush it you won't be able to uncrush it :) It will collapse the spring under the green hat I crushed mine to about 25hg! since I keep my boost about 25psi !

well i crushed mine with a vise and now it doesnt work properly or at least that's what i think since it make the turbo make duck like noise..

any ideas?
i crushed it just so the nipple touches the lower ...dome
thx

I personally have done the DG bov mod as well as the dejon power house leak stop kit and to my knowledge the bov still functions the same, but when you get on it and build some boost (15+ psi) then it switches modes from the stock setup to where it can hold more boost. This makes sure you don't get compressor surge as a side effect of just drilling the hole. My car will get up to 20psi but because I'm on the stock 450's and pump my boost falls, but the bov makes a whole new sound at 20psi that sounds like an alien blaster gun "bzzzewwww" its pretty sweet:rocks:

I did this along with a very small crushing of the bov to where the top of the diapraghm is level with the stock boost port.
