Project 818 Turbo question.

I'm getting ready to piece together everything for my next build which will be Project 818 from factoryfiveracing.com.

I've been out of the loop for quite some time since I sold my gsx. I'm looking for a turbo capable of around 600whp on a EJ22 motor.

One's I remember from back in the day are.. HTA30r, holset hx35 7blade, BW s362 or 256 whatever, efr turbos, gtx turbos etc IDK whats best anymore

I didnt ask the scooby world because if you get north of 350whp they have no clue whats going on, haha

HTA3076 would be great for that platform.

I would definetly get a Hta turbo from forced performance, I have had awesome customer service, it you want something 600awhp capable get the HTAgt3586.

That's dope man. You should keep us updated with it. There was another member with a kit car like that, his is 4g63t powered and is awesome.How much was that shell?

As for the turbo, what are you plans for the car?

You will never hit 600whp on a gt30 with an ej motor. Im at 650whp with a 6466 billet ball bearing turbo with my 07 sti on a built/darton sleeved motor reving to 8500. You will need a gt35 and race gas or gt40 to make that kind of power, and a sleeved block. Unless its a ej22t block. Then sleeving might not be needed.

The car itself will be 10K comes out early 2013, I Will be picking up a donor 02-05 wrx soon from copart. My plans are to get everything from the wrx swapped over to the 818 so I have a running car.

In the meantime I'll get the EJ22T block and throw some rods and pistons in. Then Ill swap out the EJ20 open deck engine for the EJ22 closed deck and then start adding the turbo bits etc.
or I may just skip the ej20 all together and swap over the ej20 dohc heads straight away.

Well hell, maybe 600whp is to tall of a order then, guess i'm to use to the 4g.

Could always get an HTA3582r. Spooled like stink on my 2.3l, also would definitely get you enough airflow for 600

600whp is a very tall order. I have 15k in my engine. They are very hard to make power with compaired to a 4g.
