Project 188k Restoration (Summer 2010)

Story: Picked up this chassis (fwd) for 200$ and my two xbox's solely for the rare paint it has. I plan on either daily driving it with a stock 7-bolt or putting the 6-bolt from my 1g in it and scrapping the 1g fwd chassis. I'm open to all opinions on where I should go on this car and I prefer some insight and/or reccomendation! So far I plan on getting new black carpet, and following suit by vinyl painting all the plastics and dash black(eventually full black interior). Enjoy!


Day 1:
Pulled ECU (eprom?)
Pulled damaged dash
Pulled damaged carpet

Day 2:
Pulled oxidized side mirrors (to be repainted)
Pulled upper door trim where window seals (please help me find where to buy these things new!!)
Pulled damaged drivers side skirt

i wouldnt waste money on new carpet unless it has a bunch of holes it in. You should have seen how dirty mine was, alls i did was let it soak over night in a garbage can with some carpet cleaner and that got most of it out then i painted it black with vinyl and fabric paint i picked up at autozone. looks great!

dude thanks. I've never met anybody who's tried the fabric vinyl paint from there before so i was a little sketch just trying to buy some and find out if it stinks or anything after its dry. I definitely will do that, but mine unfortunately does have tons of holes, so i found a guy on here willing to send it to me for 40$ to my door. So I'm ordering that this week! What paint do i use on the dash and plastics??

+1 the dupli color vinyl paint works great.. good on carpet good on door panels and dash.. to bad its 6 bucks a can..

This is an eprom ecu correct? When i got my eprom in the 1g it was already socketed with link in it so i really can't i.d. it. Just finished day 2's work. I'll be posting pics before noon

Yeah, it is an eprom ECU.

I will second that yes indeed you have an EPROM there. Also, looks like tons of fun!!

I don't plan on using the airbags in the car, So should i just pull the srs unit out with all it's wires or has anyone had a problem with this? Besides destroying their face on the steering wheel..
