I know this has been covered many many times. I've read the HUGE merged thread but I seem to be having a different problem.

I know how to program it. I've tried jumping pins 1 and 4 with a wire and I've also tried using my Openport 2.0 cable. When I turn the key from the off position to acc then back to off the locks do not lock and unlock as they should.

I've checked the remote and it works fine. I have 2 different keyless boxes and I don't think it is them.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Which fuse could it be if it was one? Thanks tuners.

I am having a similar problem too, however mine worked until the battery died in the remote and now when i try to jump pins to program a new remote the locks dont lock then unlock like you said. So I too am curious.

this may be a stupid question, but are the electric locks in working condition? That would at least be a good troubleshooting point to start from

Okay I just spend 2 days putting my alarm in and only reason it took me that long, I couldn’t find lock/unlock wire diagram...
After few hours playing with it I figured that 2 brown wires are low voltage positive wires...
Now what you might want to try to do, cut a little bit of skin off from one of the brown wires and get negative wire (attach to any metal part of your car body) and touch one of the brown wires with that negative to see if your locks will trigger. If that works just get 2 negatives lock unlock wires from you keyless and connect properly to those brown ones. That should do it...

Yes they work perfectly from both sides. And to the other person who responded I'm more interested in a reason why it isn't working, I don't want to hack nay wires if all possible. I'd rather pay the 50$ to have the dealer do it.

Okay then do it had way - start pulling your fuses one by one until you will check all of them and see if that helps, and if you willing pay to the dealer, why not start from there? Was under impression this is something you had installed, not stock keyless...
Also check on Answers.com, I'm sure you tried this more than ones but might want to try again before paying... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_program_a_keyless_entry_remote_for_a_Mitsubishi_eclipse
Good Luck!
