I am having a very hard time getting the lower bolt off the intake manifold stay. I cannot see it and I cannot get any leverage on it with a small ratchet. Any tips on taking the intake manifold off?

I do have a haynes manual but it doesnt show me how to get to it.

"REMOVE" your batery and you should get it fairly easy, if your battery is on, my god your going to brake an arm or sprain something so take off that batery! i had the same proplem removed the batery and took it off easily.

Also wants you get those stays off, then you can remove the head with the intake manifold on. then take it off easyest way in my opinion. and its a 14mm to remove the stays

Here are some pics i took of my car right now, to give you an idea and help you. yea yea i know my car is a mess but should be getting it running by friday :)

I've also found that you can get an arm up there from the bottom side and unbolt those bots.

Great suggestion. Remove your downpipe and reach your arm up through the bottom. This seems to be the easiest way to get at that bolt. Also, read up on Buck's tech article abou this same procedure.

No I didnt have the battery or the tray out.
Take the batery off, plus there is no need to fo under the car and take them out, it's easy enough with the batery off. just take that batery off and youl should get it unbolted fairly easy.

Thanks, I have definately found through experience that this is the best way to remove those bolts. The brace is unnecessary, and you can just remove it so you don't have to deal with it again. My 3 turbo eclipses have the brackets off of them.
