Problem with Oil Cap

Right...So I've noticed some oil on my valvecover and realized it was coming out of my (stock)oil cap. I thought it was about time to get a shiny aftermarket oilcap off ebay for like $20. I switched it and drove around and noticed it was still leaking...What the crap. I figured maybe the aftermarket cap was the wrong size or something so I picked up a stock oil cap gasket and put it on...and it still leaks!
Any ideas?

I had the same problem with mine. I was able to find a round rubber thermostat gasket at my local parts store that fit the bottom of the cap. Make sure that it is not too thick that it stretches out the rubber when the cap is screwed on or it will still leak. Once I did this, I haven't had any problems since. I believe if you search the forums, there are some other solutions to this problem as well, I think that it is fairly common. Hope this helps

Take the gasket off the stock one and double gasket it.

You can also -gently- bend the securing prongs on the cap up just a little bit.
