Problem With My Talons Engine

Hello I Have 93 Talon 4g63t 7 Bolt... I was driving and it started over heating, next thing i new it started to smoke and oil started dripping in large amounts. The car started to stall and idle weird as well. I understand that most of the smoke was from the coolant... The next morning i refilled the oil and started the car... It turned over but there was a constant clanking noise at the bottom half.. I've looked up the possible problems such as crank walking but i don't think that is the problem. (and crank walking for 6bolt not 7bolt) So can anyone give me any advice or help me with the situation!!???

7 bolts were the ones for crankwalking. However that doesn't sound like your problem. Drain the oil. See if there is bearing material in it. Sounds like you may have some bad ones.

sounds like you over heated the engine
try taking off the oil pan. and check for anything unusual
doesnt sound like crank walk
sounds worse

I was thinking it might be a bearing as well... I'll try draining the oil tomorrow and then let you guys know if i find anything new. I also forgot to mention that the head cover was loose because of the previous owner using small screws. Do any of you think because it was loosely covered that the pressure caused a spill of oil which eventually led to over heating?

With the valve cover being loose and the pressure im pretty sure thats why it was leaking oil in large amounts...

Your gonna end up rebuilding the entire bottom end, i would almost guarantee that there is a rod bearing thats completely shot.........try importperformanceparts.net ive had alotta luck with the topline rebuild kits they sell, or if youve got the cash to spend hit up slowboy and buy all new internals....
