When installing my JMF "race" SMIM into by 2g with a 6 bolt swap, the IM hits the brake fluid reservoir. Is this because its a 1G manifold that is being installed in a 2g? I had to take the stock bracket off and move it out of the way to install it and now there is no way to get the bracket back on.

Where and how did you end up mounting it? I am thinking about using the exhaust tie up straps that have holes punched in it all the way through. I would wrap in around the reservoir and pull it tight to get the holes to line up to the stock bolt holes. Not the best looking bracket but it would get the job done.

I left the bracket on and just moved the reservoir out of the way to install the manifold/motor. There's another spot in the firewall that's not being used so I'm going to drill the bracket to line up with that hole.

Don't worry, when I finish my custom brake reservoir bracket you can use mine and relocate it. ;)

No custom bracket is necessary, just slide the original brake fluid reservoir bracket over to this bolt. If I remember correctly (its been about a year since I did mine) once you slide it over there will be another bolt hole that lines up with it, if not just drill and tap a hole for the other bolt.

Ok thanks gofer, hope I can salvage my bracket as I kinda mangled it trying to get it to work.

I never said that one was necessary, I'm just fabricating a custom brake reservoir bracket for my 2g since no one else offers one. :thumb:
