Pro Street IC vs. VP IC

If I were going for 500 hp, a bigger core will probably make it a little easier. If youre going to spend the big bucks anyway, a couple hundred bucks for a bigger core probably wont phase you.

The prices have gone way up on PS's kit. I think the last tme I checked it was like 1350 a street kit and 1450 a race kit with bov and everything. I even remember when a street kit was 1050 on sale. The prices of the options have gone up too....WTF

I dont need a fmic tommorrow, so I'll wait until the prices go back down.

500 hp is quite exessive, i run 12.4's all day on pump gas, full weight, I can easily run 11's on race gas, so that should give you an idea

Ok...I only read the second page not the first. If I can, I would like to differ you from buying the Victory Performance FMIC. I bought it, it is an awesome IC the I got the Super Street "Trim" and the core on that is 24x10x3.5 and it is a Spearco Core...the 2-212? But the reason I would recommend that you don't buy it is because there piping kit doesn't fit at all. You will have to modify one of the upper pipes (the one that BOV attaches to...it is about 1/2" to long and it also rubs the shift linkage because its too low). Then, it doesn't come with a 90 degree elbow to attach to the turbo. And the lower piping just didn't really work. I had to have a custom pipe made so that every thing would work and it was a 180 bend that connects to the intercooler and goes back to a pipe that goes to the turbo.

So...that is my experience with my FMIC "kit". The intercooler itself is great, cools very well and doesn't get heatsoaked with my small little Big16g. Its really the piping that I have a problem with...and that Victory Performance would do nothing to help me when told that the pipes didn't fit.

Ohh well...you live...you learn...and you pass on your experiences.

you never anwsered my question ?

Did you even read any of my posts? you do not need a 216 to run 11's

My victory short route piping fit fine. I just had to make a elbow for the 16g. The piping is really made for the big turbos that elbows out that way.

I had the same problem, I think its because I had a 1g throttle and intake mani. I cut almost 2" off the pipe that has the BOV on(should have been 1"), its close to the shift linkage but i doesnt rub it, I think its because I have it trimmed to avoid the lower radiator hose after the 1g water neck.

but it works fine now.

ya im goign to go with the 2-120 also, but first i want to wait 4 days to see agp new fmic they are coming out with, if that looks nicer ill be going with theres

i didnt think AGP was gonna be making any intercoolers, at least that the impression I got form speaking with ben on the phone when I asked him about it, although we were discussing a 1g.

I dont think theyll be manufacturing their own cores. But they might be putting together some kind of kit. Like Prostreet's, they will probably put their own pipes (most likely short route) with a spearco core or whatever.

In another thread, someone from agp actually recommended/suggested a spearco type core with short route piping, namely the IRC kit.

I never knew they were putting together a FMIC kit. So this is all just my speculation.

yeh...does that mean I am going to have to trim it more when I put my 1g TB and Intake Mani on? That sux...and yeh to aviod the shift linkage, we had to cut the pipe at angles in two places...rotate both areas and re weld so it would make like a V over the shift linkage...it was just put together with out much care imho.
