One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

I was browsing ebay the other day and came across this little gem. I got if for about $15. The same vendor had some tiny solenoid activated pneumatic switches. I picked up a few of those for $6 each! If you’ve shopped for this type of switch before, you would expect to pay upwards of $50 for one. I can only guess at full price for indicating adjustable pressure switch is. I’d start at about $150. It’s even got a little LED that lights at the switch point.

I believe I can put together one hell of a cool boost controller with these. Check out the industrial controls and valves sections of ebay sometime. There are some amazing high-tech gadgets going for junkyard prices.

This sounds like a great idea and it would definately work out. What exactly did you purchase off of the vendor. How many pneumatic switches, etc? I would like to try it myself. thanks! :dsm:

I bought one pressure switch and four solenoid valves. I didn't watch for very long before I found them so it might be the kind of thing you can find on there frequently.

Your garage must look like mine.

I don't want to start a bidding war but if anyone else wants to try this approach there is a very nifty digital pressure switch selling now.

Not for readout, for a cockpit adjustable pushbotton boost controller. I agree, the peripheral visual cue of an analog pointer is far superior to a digital readout.
