The motor is out of the car and I am trying to remove the clutch in order to put it on an engine stand and to learn how to do it. The problem is when I try to loosen the pressure plate bolts the crank moves. I read in the Chilton manual and it only mentions how to stop the flywheel from spinning (after the pressure plate is off). Wondering how you can take the clutch off when the engine is out. Any help would be appreciated.

impact gun is the easiest. or you can put a 1/2 inch breaker bar on the crank pulley on the other side of the engine.

Yes, an impact gun will be your friend. Also, the flywheel shouldn't be moving from removing the PP bolts. They shouldn't even be torqued beyond 30lbs with some loctite.

Thanks alot for the info. The clutch is off and the engine is on the jack. I ended up putting a 3/4 ratchet on the crank pulley and dropping the block in to a tire, so that the tire would stop the ratchet from moving.
