Heres the problem, my power steering pump is making a very loud constant whine, and it is hard to turn the wheel from a stop. When driving normal the steering is pretty good. I checked the resovoir and the level is ok. My rack and pinion used to leak, but I used that lucas stop leak and it doesnt seem to be leaking any more. Do you guys think I need a new pump, if so how much would it cost? Would a bad rack and pinion cause the whine also? If I do need a rack and pinion what would be the total cost?

Yes your rack can cause it to whine like that cut a lttile notch in the boot of the rack to see if there any fluid. If you ever worked on your power stearing before it could be air but im leaning twards the rack. Replace and bleed.:thumb:
