power loss at 3000 rpm, but lower rpms run perfect

Car idles perfect and no delay in response but if I don't shift on or before 3000 rpms it looses all power. It also sounds like my bov is restricted after 3000 rpms. What did I do ????? And better question, what should I do?

Have you checked for boost leaks? White smoke when around 3k and it losses power?

no smoke, and to beat it all when the car is in nutral the bov works perfectly and the rpms aren't limited. only when in gear

I curently own a 98 eclipse gst, 5 speed, fwd, in need of electrical care. I was aproached with an oppurtunity to trade my car for a 03 eclipse gts, auto, fwd, in good condition. the only problem that exist in the 03 is that the tranny slips at high rpm. Is it worth the trade?? And witch one has more power??

Dude 03 eclipse isn't even in the same category as a 98 gst!! Don't trade bro and who would trade to a car with a tranny that slips? Of course the guy wants to trade your eclipse has way more potential and he is just jealous!

thanks fo rthe advice. I was kindof thinking the same but i was thinking about the damage to my gst that I cant seem to fix. I have an oil leak that I cant find, and the engine wiring harness has been completley rigged thanks to the previouse owner. For example, have a toggle switch to turn the power off to my ecm because for some reason if i don't my bat is dead every morning. I know my car has extreme potintial but I just dont have the knowlage or the $$ to give this car what it diserves. I'm sooo confused!!!!

do you know where I could get the OEM engine controle wiring harness for my 98 gst with the relay box attatched????
