Power/Economy Switch And Brake Light

So I just got into a friends 93 Eclipse and hit Gauge Bezel lights up if its on Power or Economy, Mine does not I have checked the lights and replaced and have used a voltmeter and nothing moves What else could be the problem, THe switch does work.

Also i searched and they say the brake light comes on cause of low brake fluid but I filled up and still have the problem when either braking hard or taking a turn

Adjust the switch on your parking brake.
