My cars been dying over night so I took it to have the wiring and everything checked out. Apparently someone did a shit job on an alarm install before I had it and it is now wreaking havoc. They hooked into the power door locks relay (MB543648V, G8R-27M-V). When the relay was connected, the door locks stay locked and couldnt be unlocked and apparently that constant lock signal is whats draining the battery. Once its unplugged, they can be closed. This was demo'd to me with the drivers side. Anyways, they said itd be $165 for a new one. I went to a wrecking center and they got me a relay(MB543648, G8R-27M-B) for $30. It appears after looking around that this is the starter relay. I dont know much, but do I need to take it back or is it the right one? Plus the shop was gonna charge $120 to install it. That seems really high to me, cant I just take out the radio and do it myself? Thanks

The power door locks relay has an 8 pin connector (7 wires) while the starter relay has 5 pins (4 wires). They may have connected the alarm power to the power door lock relay's brown with white stripe wire (pin 4) somewhere (goes many places) which would then do exactly as you describe. If they did at the relay, just move it to the red with black stripe wire (either pin 2 or 7).

Thanks for the info. I replaced it, but my pass. door lock and window dont work. Ill see if I can do that with the original and replace the passenger sides with it

I think you have shorted out your alarm and/ or the actuators since it was incorrect wiring. Power door lock actuators ( aftermarket) are about 10-15 dollars a piece. Even if you buy them and install a set at a local shop they wont charge more than 100 after labor. I recomend just buying another alarm brain for 50-70 dollars and have it installed correctly and they can fix that other wiring while they are in there..

Im having the same problem with my 99gst. The door locks click somewhere behind the stereo. There was no fuse in the box, so when i put the fuse in, it unlocked. Now when i push the door lock all i get is a click. Its somewhere behind the stereo. Now I unhooked the connector that was clicking and it started clicking again behind the drivers back seat panel, next to the speaker. I unhooked a MB543648V which i take is the power door locks relay. I wonder if i replace it with another will it work
Any suggestions?
Thanks

i am having the same issues with my 96 talons door locks, when i hit the lock or unlock al i hear is a click, but it sounds like its comming from under the drivers side dash. wonder if the relay is shot

i doubt the relay will fix it, i think the door latch assembly will need to be taken apart and cleaned

relays came in, changed them still no luck, i dont even see the acuators on the doors, i dont even know if they have them on it

Sorry to bring this up from the past but i saw no answer or anything. I have the same problem and it started when my car got broken into. I think a wire is grounding out somewhere or there is a short thats causing the constant power to the relay. If i leave my relay pluggd in it begins to heat up, not hot but warm, constantly. I dont have a click behind my rear quarter panel. Any ideas or has nayone fixed this problem.
